William Salomon Orellana
It all began during my senior year in college when I decided to take time off from school to travel through South America. My travels were quite adventurous and included climbing waterfalls, swatting mosquitos in the Amazon Rainforest, getting lost in treacherous caves, suffering from altitude sickness and waking up in horror as I found myself surrounded by thousands of sand crabs on a beach by the equator. All of this experienced, while toting my film camera in hand. What started, was a growing love for documenting life through photography.
Many years later, I continue to document life through Wedding, Portraits & Commercial photography. Though not as dangerous as back packing through remote mountains, photography has allowed me to be part of so many beautiful moments and spirited journey's. I hope to be part of yours.
As a cinematographer, I aim to marry popular culture and art for social change while examining the intersection of still and moving pictures. I have worked on multiple corporate events, weddings, music videos and commercials and educational films.
Teaching - Alas, my love for the visual arts has granted me the opportunity to teach/facilitate photography & video production classes to hundreds of High School age youth; where they are taught the basics of photography and cinematography and move on to learn lighting, editing, directing and the entire production process of social justice based short films.
